IJSTL is an international peer-reviewed journal addressing all methodological aspects in the field of shipping and transport logistics, particularly those that require empirical or mathematical analysis with managerial implications. IJSTL is dedicated to publishing original, high-quality and methodologically rigorous research papers that address significant management issues pertinent to shipping/transport logistics. IJSTL also publishes informative and critical book reviews of newly published books with scholarly and practical contributions that advance the state-of-the-art of the theory and practice of shipping/transport logistics.
The scope includes the examination of overall sustainability of any transportation system, including its infrastructure, vehicle, operation, and maintenance; the integration of social science disciplines, engineering, and information technology with transportation; the understanding of the comparative aspects of different transportation systems from a global perspective; qualitative and quantitative transportation studies; and case studies, surveys, and expository papers in an international or local context. Equal emphasis is placed on the problems of sustainable transportation that are associated with passenger and freight transportation modes in both industrialized and non-industrialized areas.
The International Journal of Tourism Research will promote and enhance research developments in the field of tourism. The journal will provide an international platform for debate and dissemination of research findings whilst also facilitating the discussion of new research areas and techniques. IJTR will continue to add a vibrant and exciting channel for those interested in tourism and hospitality research developments. This function will be further enhanced by the provision of regular, book, conference and web reviews in addition to research articles. The scope of the journal is international and encompasses research into tourism aspects as well as the development of new research approaches. It will continue to include high quality research papers in any area of tourism, including reviews of literature in the field and empirical papers on tourism issues. The journal welcomes submissions based upon both primary research and reviews including papers in areas that may not directly be tourism based but concern a topic that is of interest to researchers in the field of tourism, such as economics, marketing, sociology and statistics. All papers are subject to strict double blind peer review by the international research community.
The Journal for Maritime Research (JMR) was inaugurated in 1999 as the first fully-online, peer-refereed journal in the field of historical maritime research. From 2011 the JMR will be re-launched online and in print, published twice-yearly by Routledge. The JMR focuses on historical enquiry at the intersections of maritime, British and global history, an increasingly dynamic area of research. It seeks to champion a wide spectrum of innovative research on the maritime past. While the Journal has a particular focus on the British experience, it aspires to position this within broad oceanic and international contexts, encouraging comparative perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches. The journal publishes research essays and reviews around 15-20 new books each year across a broad spectrum of maritime history. The Journal of Air Transport Management (JATM) sets out to address, through high quality research articles and authoritative commentary, the major economic, management and policy issues facing the air transport industry today. Papers are blind reviewed, normally by two referees, chosen for their specialist knowledge. These are short articles not exceeding 2500 words in length (including any references, footnotes, tables and figures). They should be self-contained papers, of either a theoretical or applied nature, that provide a stimulating approach to address a major and topical management or policy issue. They should not be review papers, indeed lengthy reviews of previous work should be avoided, and instead notes should succinctly address the topic in hand. The notes are subject to the normal blind refereeing process to maintain the high standards of the journal.
