MicrobiologyOpen is a peer reviewed journal delivering rapid decisions and fast publication of microbial science, a field which is undergoing a profound and exciting evolution in this post-genomic era. The journal gives priority to reports of quality research, pure or applied, that further our understanding of microbial interactions and microbial processes. MicrobiologyOpen gives prompt and equal consideration to papers reporting theoretical, experimental, applied and descriptive work in all aspects of microbiology. The journal aims to serve the research community by providing a vehicle for authors wishing to publish interesting and high quality work in both fundamental and applied microbiology. MicrobiologyOpen will consider submissions across eukaryotic microorganisms, prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea) and viruses infecting or interacting with microorganisms, including genetic, biochemical, biophysical, bioinformatic and structural analyses. The journal features original research articles, reviews and editorials. Original research papers must report well-conducted research with conclusions supported by the data presented in the paper. MicrobiologyOpen publishes papers submitted directly to the journal and those referred from a select group of prestigious journals published by Wiley-Blackwell. List available here. MicrobiologyOpen is a Wiley Open Access journal, one of a new series of peer-reviewed titles publishing quality research with speed and efficiency. For further information visit the Wiley Open Access website.
The central purpose of Microbiome is to unite investigators conducting microbiome research in environmental, agricultural, and biomedical arenas.Topics broadly addressing the study of microbial communities, such as, microbial surveys, bioinformatics, meta-omics approaches and community/host interaction modeling will be considered for publication. Through this collection of literature Microbiome hopes to integrate researchers with common scientific objectives across a broad cross-section of sub-disciplines within microbial ecology.
Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal which provides an advanced forum for studies related to prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, viruses and prions. It publishes reviews, research papers and communications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation or experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary electronic material.
Molecular Genetics, Microbiology and Virology addresses theoretical and applied topics in molecular genetics of pro- and eukaryotes, molecular microbiology and molecular virology. The journal focuses on studies of the genetic apparatus of microorganisms, the search for genetic forms of metabolism, genetic mapping of pathogenic causative agents, investigations of the structure and functions of extrachromosomal factors of heredity and migratory genetic elements, and theoretical studies on the mechanisms of genetic regulation. Topics include the molecular and genetic elements of eukaryotic cells, the function of chromosomes and chromatin, the nature of genetic changes in malignant degeneration, hereditary diseases. Also covered are the molecular bases of virology, including viral and cellular genomes integration and viral persistence. The journal's scope of coverage includes the biotechnological production of hormones, components of antiviral vaccines, and diagnostic and therapeutic preparations.
Molecular Microbiology, the leading primary journal in microbial sciences, publishes research articles reporting the results of molecular studies of eukaryotic microorganisms and of prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea) and their viruses. Studies that include genetic, biochemical, biophysical, bioinformatic and structural analyses leading to a deeper understanding of the molecular principles underlying basic physiological processes or mechanisms are considered as potentially suitable for publication in the Journal. Topics that are considered appropriate include gene expression and regulation, pathogenicity and virulence, physiology and metabolism, synthesis of macromolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, polysaccharides, etc), cell biology and subcellular organization, membrane biogenesis and function, traffic and transport, cell-cell communication and signalling pathways, evolution and gene transfer. Molecular Microbiology also regularly commissions MicroReviews covering these areas of research, as well as occasional topical MicroCommentaries and other special interest articles. MicroMeeting Reports will also appear in forthcoming issues. These are personal accounts of the most recent and exciting developments in a particular aspect of microbial molecular biology, as presented at a recent symposium, workshop, colloquium or congress, written by one or more of the participants. Articles focused on host responses (cellular or immunological) to pathogens and on molecular aspects of microbial ecology should be directed to our sister journals Cellular Microbiology and Environmental Microbiology, respectively. Average submission to first decision is 23 days!.
molecular oral microbiology publishes high quality research papers and reviews on fundamental or applied molecular studies of microorganisms of the oral cavity and respiratory tract, host-microbe interactions, cellular microbiology, molecular ecology, and immunological studies of oral and respiratory tract infections.Papers describing work in virology, or in immunology unrelated to microbial colonization or infection, will not be acceptable.
Free online access: Inaugural issue New Publishing Partnership This new journal aims to provide a platform to meet the needs of a demanding and growing field, and to serve and engage dialogue between Chinese mycologists and the international community. Mycology publishes papers on all aspects of mycology including lichens, with preference to systematics, ecology and biodiversity, genomics and proteomics, and molecular phylogeny and evolution. Other appropriate subjects for the journal include bioinformatics, physiology and biochemistry, pathology, morphology development, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, fungal enzymology, fungal metabolites and new techniques. Invitation to Submit Press Release - New Journal Launch The following types of papers will be considered: a) Original Research Articles b) Technical Reviews or Notes reporting new research c) Invited papers All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees. STAR Taylor & Francis/Routledge are committed to the widest possible dissemination of its journals to non-profit institutions in developing countries. Our STAR initiative offers individual researchers in Africa, South Asia and many parts of South East Asia the opportunity to gain one month's free online access to 1,300 Taylor & Francis journals. Celebrating 75th anniversary of MycopathologiaIt was founded in 1938 as an international journal devoted to the study of the role of fungi in human and animal disease. Many of the milestones discoveries in the field of medical mycology have been communicated through the pages of this journal. A special commemorative issue is planned at the end of 2013 to mark this occasion. Please contact the Editor-in-Chief or the Publishing Editor to share your stories or suggestions in this special year of festivities. This journal publishes original articles and case reports highlighting important developments in the fields of medical and veterinary mycology. Mycopathologia covers a diverse, interdisciplinary range of topics that is unique in breadth and depth. We also welcome papers on systematics and taxonomy of fungi involved in these fields. Timely opinion articles, mini-reviews and other communications are usually invited at the discretion of the editorial board. The Editor-in-Chief is Vishnu Chaturvedi, New York Sta
