Annales Zoologici Fennici publishes original research reports, in-depth reviews, short communications and commentaries on different subjects from the realm of animal science. Although we also publish papers on specific topics (see the list below), our aim is to promote papers which, by using an integrative and cross-discipline approach, provide a picture of the past and present environment, and interactions amongst its components.
The Annales de la Société Entomologique de France founded in 1832, is one of the oldest journals in the world to be devoted to Entomology. After merging with two other journals : 'Revue Française d'Entomologie' and 'la Revue de Pathologie végétale et d'Entomologie agricole de France' in 1965, the Annales kept its title with the amendment 'Nouvelle série'. In 1977, the journal acquired an Editorial board and an International Scientific Committee.
Covers horizontal and directional drilling, drilling fluids, bit technology, sand control, perforating, cementing, well control, completions and drilling operations.
Diseases associated with agriculture, forestry, and food-industry, particularly those caused by biohazards (allergic and immunotoxic diseases, zoonoses): study of exposure, characterisation of agents, experimental models, epidemiological and clinical reports. Because of the similarity of the pathomechanisms, the editors are also interested in papers on biohazards causing diseases in other environments (sewage and waste handling, cotton industry, mouldy houses, etc.). Health effects of chemical pollutants in agricultural areas, including occupational and non-occupational effects of agricultural chemicals (pesticides, fertilizers) and effects of industrial disposal (heavy metals, sulphur, etc.) contaminating the atmosphere, soil and water. Work-related accidents and injuries in agriculture, forestry, and food-industry: incidence, causes, social aspects and prevention. Problems of occupational hygiene in agriculture, forestry and food-industry: study of exposure, epidemiology, prevention. Prevention of occupational diseases in agriculture, forestry and food-processing industry, including technical means to minimise occupational exposure to biohazards, problems of health and safety surveillance, health education of workers in specified areas, professional education of medical staff. Methods of monitoring biohazards in air, water, soil, products, etc., as well as proposals for standards and norms for these methods. Descriptions of occupational and non-occupational environmental factors of importance for human health and disease.
The Annual Review of Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics, in publication since 1970, covers significant developments in the fields of Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Systematics, as they apply to all life on Earth. Essay reviews cover topics ranging from phylogeny, speciation, and molecular evolution through behavior and evolutionary physiology to population dynamics, ecosystems processes, and applications in invasion biology, conservation, and environmental management.
The Annual Review of Entomology, in publication since 1956, reviews significant developments in the field of Entomology, including Biochemistry and Physiology, Morphology and development, Behavior and Neuroscience, Ecology, Agricultural Entomology and Pest Management, Biological Control, Forest Entomology, Acarines and other Arthropods, Medical and Veterinary Entomology, Pathology, Vectors of Plant Disease, Genetics, Genomics, and Systematics, Evolution, and Biogeography.
Applications in Plant Sciences (APPS) is a monthly, peer-reviewed, open access journal promoting the rapid dissemination of newly developed, innovative tools and protocols in all areas of the plant sciences, including genetics, structure, function, development, evolution, systematics, and ecology. Given the rapid progress today in technology and its application in the plant sciences, the goal of APPS is to foster communication within the plant science community to advance scientific research. APPS is a publication of the Botanical Society of America, originating in 2009 as the American Journal of Botany's online-only section, AJB Primer Notes & Protocols in the Plant Sciences.
Aquatic Biosystems is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal considering high quality manuscripts on all aspects of basic and applied research on aquatic organisms and environments. The scope of Aquatic Biosystems ranges from the molecular and organism levels to global systems and processes. The journal encourages reports on a wide array of environments, including lakes, rivers, marshes, springs, lagoons, solar pans, estuaries, and the open ocean, and their micro- and macro-flora and fauna. The focus is on the relationships between the environment and biological systems, encompassing microbial genomics, physiology, and ecology, biogeochemical cycling, food webs, paleolimnology, biodiversity, conservation, resource management, and ecosystem structure and function. Engineered biosystems, such as for aquaculture, renewable resource, biofuels, biotechnology, and biomedical production, as well as constructed wetlands, are within the scope of Aquatic Biosystems. The goal of the journal is to bridge across freshwater and saline systems, between basic and applied research, and from gene systems to ecosystems. The online format of the journal is designed to accelerate the process of disseminating important research results and information, in order to better meet the needs and demands of the highly dynamic and global science, management, and private sectors.
Aquatic Ecology publishes timely, peer-reviewed original papers relating to the ecology of fresh, brackish, estuarine and marine environments. Papers on fundamental and applied novel research in both the field and the laboratory, including descriptive or experimental studies, will be included in the journal. Preference will be given to studies that address timely and current topics and are integrative and critical in approach. We discourage papers that describe presence and abundance of aquatic biota in local habitats as well as papers that are pure systematic. The journal provides a forum for the aquatic ecologist - limnologist and oceanologist alike- to discuss ecological issues related to processes and structures at different integration levels from individuals to populations, to communities and entire ecosystems.Â
